My Dearest Friend...
That lump in your throat... Why are you about to cry?

I'm sorry you feel this way.

This letter is my way of giving to you what you desperately seek through a story of sacrifice, exhaustion, frustration, and the never ending struggle between continuing the trek or finally giving up. By the end of this letter, you'll know YOUR answer. You will trust it.

Note to Self: The World Revolves around you

5/5/2013

Picture
Maybe you've heard that the world does not revolve around you and that's only so if you believe every single person, place, or thing belongs to you.

Here's the truth: Your world is YOU. Yep, because you have 100% control over yourself, your actions, your words, and your thoughts. You create the world around you. You make things happen...or not.

*In this picture is the keyboard I learned and practiced to play piano on. Over 20 years later there's an extra set of hands playing alongside me. My nephew. Never in this world did I picture this, yet here it is. This is my world and I'm happy. I wish the same for you.

Believe.

I don't know about you
but from time to time
I feel alone.
Not sure what's going to happen.

I wonder....

As hard as it feels
dealing with family, friends (foes), career, play, and on and on some more....
cause it feels hard right now.

Then I smile at the kindness in the hearts of others
they make my life feel easy and peaceful.
I work hard. I don't doubt my capabilities or my worth.
Not anymore.
I've fallen a thousand times
and I keep getting up.
Maybe a few tears and scrapes.
Maybe a little slower than normal, but I keep going.

Why?

Why keep going when it hurts so much.... Because I Believe.
I believe in something better. And I learn.

Maybe that's why I enjoy running. It takes my breath away.
Sometimes I want to cry.
Sometimes I have to stop and tie my shoe (again).
Sometimes I grab a drink and spill it over me because I don't stop running.
I think about quitting sometimes too.

I'm tired. I want it to be over.

I keep going. I believe. And yes it helps when others believe in me too.

In the end, I get there
because I continue to take the steps forward.
Like I said, sometimes I'm not running, but walking.
Hey, I've even crawled.
And on one occasion I dragged myself for miles. It happens.

Keep Going.

Believe.

Note to Self: Connections

4/5/2013

On March 20 was the first day of Spring (originally the New Year) and it got me thinking. Life is about making connections, whether its to get a job, meet someone, make friends, or get a good table at the finest restaurant.

Sometimes its about loving those who have died with the unseen, unbreakable, everlasting connections. Other times, well... every single moment of every single day our brains connect, connect, connect.

So here we are. This was the inspiration of the month. Realizing how our magical our bodies are to constantly make connections, make changes, and reconnect without us having to think about it. We connect with our bodies through the thoughts we have, so if I'm stressed I automatically develop pain in my neck and shoulders. (If I try to pretend I'm not stressed, well then I've got my body responding crystal clear!)

Have you ever had that feeling when you meet someone and it feels like you've known them your whole life? That's a deep connection. It's not romantic, its magic!

Or those magical moments with your kids when you remember how you were at that age and you just get them. And they just get you right back. And its all so perfectly clear.

Perhaps, its enjoying your life as you move forward with time without resisting. You own it. You embrace it. You channel it. You love it!

Note to Self: Contradictions

3/5/2013

Smile, but don't smile all the time.
Speak up, but know when to shut up.

Always look both ways.
Always look in front of you and behind you.

Never say never.
Never.

Don't tell me what to say.
Don't tell me what to do.

You're going to live and cry.
You're going to live and love and laugh and love a little bit more.

The Golden Glow

2/17/2013

Take the spotlight. I dare you!
You can spot the glow in someone else, that's the easy part.

You know the glow I am talking about don't you?

I want what she/he has!

I was part of a magnificent and magical group led by a power team, Michelle Ward (www.WhenIGrowUpCoach.com) and Tanya Geisler (www.TanyaGeisler.com) in the Golden Ticket. A memorable 12 weeks full of honesty, clarity, support, love, respect, and accountability.

My business has shifted in a profound way, possible through the guidance of these two extraordinary coaches. They truly led the way to an unforgettable journey not just for me but for an incredible group of women. The magical blend was our two guides, the other women, and ourselves.

     A MAGICAL BLEND!

"Be Strong enough to stand alone,
be yourself enough to stand apart,
but be wise enough to stand together
when the time comes."

         I've got a Golden Ticket!

We ended our 12 weeks in the city that never sleeps, New York City.

It can be so competitive in the online business world, yet I found myself in perfect harmony in this group. I am a freshman learning how to navigate my business, taking the classes I need to pass, figuring out which extracurricular activities to be a part of. But the most fun has been meeting other freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and even seniors who have embraced me. Yes, they are ahead of me, but not once did any of them make me feel below them.

I felt the feminine power rise!

We were all alike, yet each very unique. There was an overwhelming abundance of support, admiration, and honest intentions for the success of one another.

Here's the group of women, Michelle Ward and Tanya Geisler, along with two special guests Alexandra Franzen and Hannah Marcotti.

I'm not much of an emotional person, yet being among these women I shed tears of joy for the pure embraces they gave. My only thought was

if every woman could do this, teach this, be this...then this world would forever change. The world would be MAGICAL! ;)
We will get here.
I know!
We each have it.

I want you to know that YOU HAVE THE GOLDEN GLOW!
Love you!

Note to Self: Perfect Planning

2/4/2013

I don't know about you, but I've seen so many people making plans for 2013. Making lists, writing out goals, checking schedules, and mapping out the year to get a sense of how 2013 is going to be.

But let me share how my plans for one month fell apart and came back together.

Can perfect planning exist?

Note to Self: Survive

1/23/2013

Yesterday my car wouldn't start. Luckily I was parked at the school so it was safe. I was safe.

This morning I bought a $126 battery to replace the one in my car. It worked. It was running. And I was driving around happy as can be. No towing. No drama. No more adventure and I was just fine with that.

And then.....
